Interstate Escape

This family were relocating interstate and had bought their new home in Tasmania when they contacted us. Already holding a double mortgage, they didn't have the cashflow they needed to renovate their Canberra home. This little house threw everything it had at us, from wasps' nests in the walls to undergrowth pushing up through the floorboards. It needed some serious YPP TLC to get its owners the best possible price. As well as repairing longstanding maintenance issues, we removed walls to create a larger living space and added two new decks with stacking slider doors opening out to the back deck. This opened up the space and let in the light. We built a brand new family sized kitchen with a butler's pantry and reconfigured the floorplan to add an extra bedroom and ensuite. This home went on the market at a challenging time, right in the middle of interest rate rises and the federal election in 2022. Yet, on auction day we had more than six parties bidding and easily exceeded our happy owners' reserve price.
